Patagonia Concepts
Trash the trend
In alignment with Patagonia’s ethos of prioritizing purpose over profit and acting as guardians of our remarkable planet, we are proposing a concept aimed at spotlighting the harmful impacts of fast fashion on our marine ecosystems. Through this initiative, we are emphasizing the critical need for recycling, refurbishing, and re-wearing clothes as a measure to mitigate these effects, perfectly fitting with Patagonia’s innovative service of refurbishing its own products for re-wearing.
Our concept employs an engaging, yet thought-provoking method: Marine animals are portrayed as ‘wearing’ sea trash in the form of fashion accessories, subtly symbolizing the inundation of our oceans with waste from the fast fashion industry. This visual metaphor is promoting awareness of the environmental harm caused by fast fashion while also fostering a dialogue on sustainable clothing practices.
By doing this, we are drawing attention to the urgent need for responsible consumption and encouraging our customers to actively participate in our mission of preserving the planet. Through the refurbishment of older Patagonia products, we underscore the message that every piece of clothing has lasting value and the life of every garment can be extended, which ultimately helps in reducing our carbon footprint.
In this manner, we bring Patagonia’s commitment to sustainability to the forefront, influencing attitudes towards fast fashion, and promoting a mindful, sustainable lifestyle that is genuinely ‘in fashion.’ We believe this compelling concept is creating a deeper connection with our customers and reinforcing Patagonia’s position as an environmental champion in the fashion industry.
Old Nomads
In harmony with Patagonia’s principles of sustainability and commitment to preserving our planet, our concept is introducing “Old Nomads” – a tribute to well-traveled jackets and their seasoned owners. This concept celebrates the stories and experiences that these jackets are a part of, personifying them as trusted companions in our journeys.
Each “Old Nomad” jacket carries a poignant poem, expressing gratitude for the adventures they’ve shared and the safe warmth they’ve provided to their wearers. These verses are a testament to the jackets’ longevity and an appreciation of their loyal service.
Moreover, this concept underscores a crucial call to action: to repair and re-wear these trusty jackets. This is more than a nod towards sustainable fashion—it’s an homage to the journey, an acknowledgment of the jacket as more than just a garment. It is a companion that has kept us warm, safe, and embraced through our travels.
The goal of the “Old Nomads” concept is to nurture a deeper connection between owners and their jackets, promoting an ethos of care and longevity over disposable fashion. It aligns with Patagonia’s mission of reducing waste and inspiring customers to treasure their garments for a lifetime of adventures. In doing so, we are encouraging a shift towards sustainable clothing habits and reinforcing the importance of every individual’s role in preserving our planet.
Tribute to the mariner
Woven of gossamer threads and resilience, an ocean traveller I stand,
A nomad’s jacket, adorned with whispers of distant lands.
Across the frothy seas, under the canvas of the sapphire sky,
With briny breezes as my symphony, I paint the world’s lullaby.
Under the celestial sphere, kissed by the moon’s radiant beam,
An ocean wayfarer’s mantle, I’ve dared the deep sea dream.
Caressed by balmy zephyrs, baptised in the wave’s salty tears,
An emblem of constancy, amid the maritime frontier.
Beneath my weathered exterior, myriad narratives reside,
Of endless horizons merging, where sea and sky collide.
Each stitch, a saga spun, each fibre, an ode to roam,
In every sea-soaked thread, echoes of the ocean’s poem.
I’ve safeguarded the mariner’s spirit, warmed their salt-sprayed heart,
In silence, their enduring sentinel, together in every depart.
My fabric captures their wanderlust, my pockets, treasures of the deep,
Such honour, such joy, their maritime journey to keep.
On the deck of lonesome ships, under the Aurora’s mystic glow,
Amid the whales’ harmonious hymns, where the coral gardens grow,
I’ve partaken in their solitude, their bliss and their awe,
Saw the sea through their gaze, the nature’s raw law.
I am the liaison ‘twixt sailor and the sea, the marriage of soul and tide,
Bearing the elixir of voyages, each with its unique stride.
Honoured, I am, to have sailed these boundless waters,
A testament to time, the ocean’s travelling daughter.
A lyric of exploration I am, sung in salt-stained seams,
Sewn with the spirit of sailing, patched with nautical dreams.
The bond of journeying together, the gratitude, it’s grand,
I am a nomad’s jacket, an ocean wanderer’s trusty hand.
Tribute to the mountaineer
Born of rugged threads and endurance, a mountain sentinel I am,
A nomad’s jacket, stitched with tales of rugged peaks and morning calm.
Over cliffs that kiss the heavens, under the eagle’s watchful eye,
With the majesty of the mountains as my ever-reaching sky.
Beneath the cloak of twinkling stars, amidst the snow’s pure white,
An alpinist’s trusted companion, I’ve faced the frozen night.
Touched by the glacier’s cold embrace, bathed in alpine streams,
A symbol of resilience, amid the mountain dreams.
Under my time-tested surface, myriad stories dwell,
Of summits that touch the cloud lace, of valleys where shadows fell.
Each stitch, a legend crafted, each thread, an anthem to ascend,
In every crevice of my fabric, echoes of highland adventures blend.
I’ve cradled the climber’s spirit, kept close their beating heart,
In their silent struggles, a partner, never to depart.
My folds hold their ambitions, my pockets, stones of their endeavor,
Oh, the gratitude I foster, to be part of this adventure forever.
On the rugged trails of giants, under the sunrise’s gentle glow,
Among the peaks that pierce the sky, where the mountain breezes blow,
I’ve shared in their solitude, their triumphs and their fears,
Seen the heights through their eyes, heard the whisper of the spheres.
I am the bond ‘twixt man and mountain, the nexus of soul and stone,
Carrying the testament of ascents, each with its unique tone.
Honoured, I am, to be part of these daring climbs,
As I wear the weight of the ages, etched in alpine rhymes.
A ballad of mountaineering I am, sung in rugged seams,
Stitched with the spirit of the heights, patched with lofty dreams.
The joy of scaling together, the gratitude, it’s true,
I am a nomad’s jacket, climbing high, ever anew.
Tribute to the traveller
Born of wool and fibers, stitched with wanderlust,
I am a nomad’s jacket, born to roam, born to trust.
Across the mountains, through the valleys, under the sun’s sweet glare,
With nature as my backdrop, the world’s beauty I declare.
Under the whispering willows, beneath the star’s cold light,
A nomad’s trusted mantle, I’ve braved the frosty night.
I’ve been kissed by the desert’s heat, drenched in monsoon rains,
And yet, I remained the constant in these ceaseless changing plains.
Beneath my rugged surface, countless stories do reside,
Of sunsets smeared across the sky, of moonlit ocean tides.
Each thread, a tale woven, each seam, a song of travel,
In every worn-out crevice, echoes of gravel.
I’ve cradled the traveller’s spirit, clung to their beating heart,
I’ve been their silent witness, a companion in every start.
My fibres hold their dreams, my pockets, tokens of their quest,
Oh, the gratitude I harbor, to be part of this zest.
In worn-out corners of cafes, by the fire’s warming glow,
Among the ancient trees, where the icy rivers flow,
I’ve shared in their solitude, in their joy and their despair,
Seen the world through their eyes, felt the wind through their hair.
I am the bridge ‘between man and nature, the blend of soul and earth,
Carrying the essence of journeys, each with its unique worth.
Honoured, I am, to have been part of these splendid voyages,
As I wear the weight of time, each day a page in endless passages.
A poem of adventure I am, sung in threads and seams,
Stitched with travel spirit, patched with colourful dreams.
The joy of journeying together, the gratitude, it’s true,
I am but a nomad’s jacket, born to roam, born to pursue.
